England captain Steve Borthwick is expected to be fit to face Italy on Sunday despite missing training on Tuesday.
The Saracens lock missed the session ahead of the RBS Six Nations trip to Rome with illness, however he should return to training on Wednesday.
England boss Martin Johnson also has centres Riki Flutey and Shontayne Hape back in contention after they missed the 30-17 victory over Wales at the weekend.
The duo both pulled out the matchday squad - with Flutey having suffered a dead leg and Hape having gone down with a sickness bug.
Johnson will confirm his team for the clash with the Azzurri on Wednesday.
