Robinson: Final push
Paul Robinson feels another six points should be enough to see Bolton safe this season.
The Trotters have taken 32 points from their 30 games so far and sit 13th in the Premier League table.
The bottom half of the table remains very congested, though, with the battle to avoid the drop set to go down to the wire.
Securing safety as quickly as possible is now the priority for all concerned, with nerves set to fray as the games slip away.
Bolton are among those breathing a little easier at the moment, with a 4-0 win over Wigan on Saturday significantly aiding their cause, and Robinson believes Owen Coyle's side are now just two victories away from preserving their top-flight status for another year.
"We probably need 36 or 38 [points] for safety," he told The Bolton News.
"We would be pretty comfortable with that.
"They were big results for us with West Ham and Burnley losing. They still have to play the top teams, and we have got Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa to come.
"We know we have two of those games at home. It's tough for people to come here and try to get a result.
"We have to be resilient and try to make it hard for any team to come here and try to get anything."
Robinson has also hailed the impact made by Coyle since his appointment as Gary Megson's successor, with team morale now sky high around the Reebok Stadium.
"You'd ask what has changed? It's the manager, the atmosphere, and the players," he said.
"The fans appreciate what type of change is going on. The manager has his own ideas but it takes time for the players to get used to the way he wants you to play.
"But as you have all seen, we seem to have got into a rhythm, team spirit is very high and you couldn't wish for a better bunch of lads."
