Vettel: Fastest in first practice
Red Bull pair Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber completely dominated first practice for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.
Vettel posted the fastest time around the Hungaroring in the 90-minute session on Friday morning, clocking a lap of 1 minute 20.976 seconds.
Australian driver Webber was just over a tenth behind while the rest of the field were more than a second adrift of the young German's benchmark.
Renault's Robert Kubica was best of the rest, ahead of the McLaren of reigning world champion Jenson Button.
Williams driver Rubens Barrichello was fifth ahead of Sauber's Pedro de la Rosa in a session that is often used to experiment with fuel loads and set-up options.
Fernando Alonso, a controversial winner of the German Grand Prix last time out, made a quiet start to the weekend by posting the seventh fastest time, 1.796secs down on Vettel.
He was followed by Mercedes duo Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, while Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top 10.
Ferrari's Felipe Massa finished down in 12th position as the Brazilian returned to the track where he suffered a life-threatening skull fracture just over a year ago.
Massa, who has paid a visit to the medical personnel who tended to him after the crash, insists that any memory of the accident or its aftermath will not affect his performance this weekend.
Championship leader Lewis Hamilton finished in unfamiliar territory down in 18th position, three seconds off the pace.
