Quotes of the week
New Bristol City goalkeeper David James hopes that his move to Ashton Gate does not lead to the end of his international career with England.
The former Portsmouth No.1 agreed a one-year contract with the Championship club on Friday, having opted against interest from Premier League Sunderland and SPL giants Celtic.
It has been speculated that James' move into the second division of English football will damage his status in the eyes of international boss Fabio Capello.
But the soon-to-be 40-year-old, who played three matches for England at this summer's World Cup, hopes that will not be the case.
"I don't know what the future holds, and it was the same before the World Cup to be honest," James told City's official website.
"I enjoyed the World Cup to an extent, but obviously the results and the outcome were disappointing.
"I'll never retire from England and hopefully my performances at Bristol City will keep me on the radar."
Capped 53 times by England, James lives in the West Country in Exeter and clearly has revised priorities as he approaches the end of his career.
The ex-Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham and Manchester City shot-stopper will be paraded at Ashton Gate on Saturday prior to City's pre-season friendly against Blackpool.

I think regardless of what club James is at this season, it''s now time for him to move out of the England equation so we can get our younger players such as Hart some well needed experience. He''s clearly the best English keeper we have, the only reason Capello didn''t want to pick him in the world cup was because of his lack of experience, well nows your chance Fabio, 2 years to the next major tournament, you can''t stick with James, he''s had his chance. Hart is the future.
