Dereck Chisora's world heavyweight title challenge against Wladimir Klitschko has been re-arranged for April 30.
Klitschko, the IBF and WBO champion, had been due to defend his belts against Chisora on December 11 in Germany until a stomach injury forced the Ukrainian to pull out just three days before the fight.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that the fight will go ahead in the spring, with Germany remaining the venue for the bout.
"This news is a fantastic late Christmas present," British and Commonwealth champion Chisora said.
"I always believed that I would fight Klitschko, and my faith has been repaid. I was a bit worried that he might try and fight an easier touch, but I think I've earned my opportunity.
"I was gutted when Wladimir pulled out of our fight just a couple of days beforehand. But now I've got another chance to take his titles away.
"He's a great world champion, but his time at the top is well and truly up.
"My promoter Frank Warren has done a great job in getting me this opportunity because there was no guarantee Wladimir would fight me again after he got injured."
The news leaves WBA champion David Haye's future unclear. Chisora's fellow Londoner has been in protracted negotiations with Klitschko over a unification bout.

Dave B Wlad is a coward! hes got the chance to be involved in the biggest fight of his career as well as his biggest payday and he chooses to fight the woman beater! So it would seem that the K brothers most memorable fight will be when Vitali got smashed up by a old tired lennox Lewis. A match the big ape claims to have won.... errmm your face was hanging off!

Haye should call out Vitali if he has any balls - Vitali has a fight in the pipeline with Solis who looked terrible in his last fight with a 40 yr old Ray Austin - and only won it by disquaification. If Haye cant get this fight it looks like he wont have time to fight both Klitschkos before he "retires"! Having looked at the top 25 Heavyweights in the world - the only fight that would appeal to fight fans would probably be Tomas Adamek or David Tua (who although past it still possesses dangerous KO power that could trouble Haye! Another Option for Haye would be to fight Bernard Hopkins - it would draw a good PPV audience in either Britain or America. B-Hop having just been robbed by Pascal coudl provide an interesting matchup but id expect HAye to win. Its Haye's won fault for retiring without having achieved any thing at 31 look at B-Hop he is 45 and still going - why he would consider retirement having not faced the Klitschkos is beyond me. Haye just better hope Chisora doesnt beat Wladimir as he then has a clause that he must fight vitali next and then Wladmir again with would really mess up Haye's plans.. haha

why do people on this thread keep asking for haye/vitali? vitali has a mandatory challenger in solis. wlad and haye should have happened for the good of sport. it doesnt matter who is ducking who, but what matters to me is the greedy fatcats milking this sport dry leaving it on its knees. i mean how can you have a piece of the heavyweight championship? your either the champ or not, lets throw this wbc wba wbo ibf nonsense out the window and have one belt for each division!

embarrassing... what is he doin!! he had a clause to get out of the fight with del boy but he has chose to avoid Haye in favour of a domestic level fighter, like Haye fighting Harrison this will only do harm to the sport but mainly the heavyweight division!!! and to say Haye gave into their demands and he goes off and re-signs with Chisora, a joke decision by what is fast becoming a joke champion!

Ok, Then David offer Vitali the fight as he is free, You said you wanted to fight both brothers why does it have to be Wlad first, Do you see youself not being able to cope with his older brother?

This goes a long way to proving that the Klitchskos just want to hand pick their opponents and see Haye as a real threat. Haye has had unfair flack accusing him of ducking the brothers simply for wanting fair terms to the deal and not giving in to their bullyboy contracts. When he swallowed his pride and gave in to all their demands they then go and do this. Chisora is a good promising fighter but is not world class, like many of the Klitchskos previous opponents. I think its time people stopped blaming Haye and pointing the finger at the pair of frightened "champions" who talk the talk but when given the chance to make somthing run away to the safety of a banker

Paul M - Understand your frustrations but didn't Haye mess Wlad about in the first place and Haye only managed to change the % from the original fight because he beat the easiest guy out there? I too am peeved with Wlad and agree that 2 wrongs don't make i right but i suppose if Wlad had promised the opportunity to Chisora then it could be that he is honouring his word. If Haye is as confident of beating Vitali , why doesn't he pursue that fight next ?

It may not be the fight boxing fans were wanting but Chisora deserves his chance as he stepped up to the plate first, Plus if Hayes so confident of takin out both Klitchskos then whats the problem with takin on vitali first?? Obviously Hayes more afraid of vitali than Wladimir and the brothers realise this. Haye thinks hes good at mind games but he just got played bigtime....

Maybe this just means that they have agreed that it will be Vitali fighting Haye?

who is the farcical champion then? The one that pulled out of the signed fight 2 weeks before it was due to happen or the one that has made a career out of only fighting top 10 opposition and beating everybody they put in front of him. Wladimir doesn't owe Haye anything, Haye has done the same thing to the Klitschko brothers in the past so i'm glad he has got a taste of his own medicine. Haye has beaten Valuev (a modern day Carnera), Ruiz (40 years old and 7 years since beaten by a light-heavyweight), Harrison (WBA had to make up a ranking to make him eligible) and Barrett (a journeyman at best). Klitschko has beaten absolutely everybody over the years and generates enough money on his own with or without Haye. David Haye is the most farcical fighter in boxing today and now he is crying because he hasn't got his own way, poor David Haye. Anyway, good luck Derek, i hope you can do the job!!!

Farce!! First Klitschko's call Haye out, then Booth calls for transparency in negotiations, and now the fight the whole of boxing wants to see will not happen because of the Royal Wedding. Both should put up or shut up....I'm seriously thinking of throwing the towel in and quitting following boxing. This, along with the failure for Pacman to fight Money, Groves to fight Degale, and now Khan is potentialy taking on Katsidids (Good at one point, but lost last couple of matches) and not looking to unify the division really lacks ambition for the sport of kings. Come on guys...put the spark back!!!

I think its good news for derek chisora, but on the other hand I think david haye has to get vitali in the ring at all costs to cement his place in the boxing hall of fame.

Great News Indeed, fair play to Derek Chisora for wanting this fight and not ducking and diving unlike David Haye. Win or Lose he deserves respect for taking the fight and he seems a hungry fighter for a world title so he does stand a very good chance. Ever since David Haye won he's world title he's talking about cleaning up the heavyweight division and retiring by the age of 31 but he hasn't accomplished anything, and he won't be remembered like the true legends of the sport such as tyson, holyfield, ali, foreman, lewis etc...even frank bruno has accomplished more.

DISGRACE!!! Wladimir Klitchsko is now publically dodging david haye! Clearly the Klitchskos feel that only Vitali is able to deal with Haye's power and speed!! Haye now has the right to tell both Klitchskos to do one - he offered everything they demanded and now Wladimir is running scared fightin a complete novice! Sadly Haye is bein messed abt by this farce of a champion and will have to pick a fight with ''B'' standard fighters that will only see him be slated!!!
