Graham Dorrans could be fit to return for West Brom in Saturday's trip to Everton after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The midfielder missed the 3-1 defeat by Newcastle with the problem but is expected to return to training on Thursday.

His return comes at an ideal time for manager Roy Hodgson as James Morrison has been ruled out with a knee injury.

"Midfield is where we're blessed with lots of talent," assistant head coach Keith Downing told the club's official website.

"We have Scharner, Dorrans, Andrews, Mulumbu - it's one of those areas we're strong in. If we're going to lose a player from a particular area then it is better we lose it there.

"It's a great opportunity for someone. Keith Andrews has just come in. Paul Scharner was left on the bench on Saturday and had an opportunity to come back in the second half.

"Youssouf Mulumbu has been continually playing there, while Graham has had to stop and start with bumps, bruises and knocks, so hopefully he will get an opportunity in the next eight games.

"He had a slight hamstring strain but hopefully he will be back in training tomorrow, which will put him in the picture for Saturday."

Chris Brunt was restricted to a place on the bench against Newcastle due to tonsillitis, but could also return to training on Thursday, whilst Martin Fulop may also be in contention after recovering from chicken pox.

"Chris Brunt had the illness last week, which knocked him about a little bit," Downing added.

"He's had a couple of days to recuperate. He was on the bench because of it, came on and found it physically quite tough. It knocked his energy a little bit. He should be back.

"Marton Fulop didn't train yesterday but is back in tomorrow. Depending on how he does on Thursday and Friday he'll be considered."
