James Given is keeping his fingers crossed that Jadanna can revert to her early-season form in the County Gentlemen's Association EBF Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury on Thursday.

The daughter of Mujadil landed the Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley in May and followed up with respective fifth and third places in the Queen Mary Stakes and the Cherry Hinton Stakes.

However, she finished eighth in the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, after which Given decided she warranted a breather after such a busy early start to her career.

"On what she showed early in the season, this race should be well within her scope - unless there is something unexposed or very much improving," said the Lincolnshire trainer.

"She'd done nothing wrong until we got to Goodwood. At the start, Frankie Dettori said she was shaking and sweaty and didn't seem herself.

"With two-year-olds it is very easy for things to catch up with them and very often you see horses that run at Royal Ascot dip in form.

"We have given her a short break out in the paddock, she's come back in and had a racecourse gallop.

"She seems in great nick with herself, so we are going there very hopeful."

All Aboard

Winning Express made a successful debut a month ago over the stiff five furlongs at Sandown.

Trainer Ed McMahon believes, on that evidence, she should get six furlongs.

"She acquitted herself well at Sandown. We're upping her in trip to six furlongs," said the Lichfield handler.

"I don't think she'll have a problem with six.

"I think there one or two fancied horses in there but we thought this was the logical step to take with her the way she did win.

"She's a very professional filly. She was fit when she ran at Sandown so it will just be the extra furlong. I don't think that will have any concerns for her.

"We will have to see if she can up her game."

Bouncebackability

Richard Hannon expects Rayaheen and Tassel to bounce back from poor performances on their latest outings.

"While there are 10 others winners in the race our pair are in good form," the Herridge trainer told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk.

"Forget Rayaheen's last run at Sandown last time. We know she is a decent filly and she is one of Sheikh Hamdan's favourites, being home-bred and out of a 1000 Guineas winner in Natagora.

"She is not the best of travellers, so the fact that Salisbury is just down the road is a bonus.

"We also run Tassel. She looked a bit special first time out at Newmarket, but we think that she pulled muscles leaving the stalls when beaten at Salisbury as she lost her action immediately.

Champagne Supernova

"We ran her in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, but it was the one day they had soft ground and she hated it, and we were still not happy with her, so we sent her home to Highclere.

"She has come back a different filly and it might just be that she needed time to grow up, and she absolutely flew in a gallop on Monday morning, so it will be good to get her back on the track and on a decent surface."

Brian Meehan still retains plenty of faith in Supernova Heights - even though the filly has yet to open her account after three starts.

"This Oasis Dream filly deserved to hang on for a first win when just caught late at Newbury last time," read a statment posted on www.brianmeehan.co.uk.

"It would be no great surprise were she to go one better."
