Shantaram ruled out of Leger
Trainer admits fitness defeat

Trainer John Gosden has announced that St Leger contender Shantaram will miss next Saturday's big race at Doncaster.
The son of Galileo had been vying for second favouritism at around the 10/1 mark but Gosden says he has run out of time to get the colt fit.
Shantaram made it three seconds from as many career starts in the Lingfield Derby Trial back in May but then got off the mark in a Newmarket maiden before stepping up in trip to land the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy at the same course in good style.
However, the Leger hope then had to miss his planned warm-up outing in the Great Voltigeur at York because of mucus in his lungs and is not yet back to full fitness.
Gosden has won the last two runnings of the St Leger and will still have three runners in this year's renewal.
He told the Racing Post: "Shantaram will not be confirmed for the St Leger at Monday's declaration stage, as he is still on the way back. Thought Worthy and Michelangelo will both run, as will (possible pacemaker) Dartford.
"I don't know about jockeys just yet, we will know more next week."
