AFC Wimbledon caretaker manager Simon Bassey dedicated his side's 1-0 win at Wycombe on Saturday to Terry Brown.
Brown guided the Dons from the Ryman League Premier Division to League Two since taking the reins in 2007 but waved a tearful goodbye after defeat to Torquay on Tuesday.
Alongside former assistant Stuart Cash, Brown looked on from the Adams Park stands as Wimbledon recovered from Byron Harrison's 34th-minute penalty miss - Sammy Moore striking a superb half-volley before the break that ultimately left Wanderers managerless as Gary Waddock was relieved of his duties after the match.
"We made hard work of it times but they players have given me everything and I'm thankful for that," said Bassey.
"It's great that Terry and Stuart were there at the end, so that the boys could show them their appreciation for all their efforts.
"He's [Moore] got a knack of scoring good goals, I think it's his first shot on target this season. It was the perfect time and I'm sure he'll dedicate that to Terry and Stuart."
