Charlotte Edwards: Steered England to emphatic victory
England's women cruised into the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 after thrashing India by nine wickets.
Having lost the toss and been asked to bowl first, Charlotte Edwards' side restricted India to 116-6 from their 20 overs, before knocking off the required runs with 17 balls to spare.
Edwards led the way in the pursuit, carrying her bat for an unbeaten 53-ball 50, with able assistance from Laura Marsh (39) and Sarah Taylor (25 not out).
Marsh played a key role with the ball as well, taking two for 22 as she removed the dangerous Poonam Rout (51) and Nagarajan Niranjana (one).
Mithali Raj was the only other Indian batswoman to make an impact, making 35 before she was run out by Jenny Gunn.
