Shane Lowry won his first title as a professional at the Portugal Masters after watching Ross Fisher miss a putt on the final green.

Leaving himself a five-footer for par and a play-off, Fisher saw the ball lip out to hand Irishman Lowry his first win since he lifted the Irish Open as an amateur in 2009.

Final leaderboard:

GB & Ire unless stated:

-14 S Lowry
-13 R Fisher
-12 M Campbell (NZ)
-11 B Wiesberger (Aut)
-10 R Finch

Lowry had caught Fisher and overnight leader Bernd Wiesberger with a dazzling start to the back nine, holing from seven feet for birdie at the 10th before his seven-iron approach to the next landed a foot short of the hole and hopped in for an eagle two.

Wiesberger bogeyed the 11th to leave Lowry at the top before Fisher picked up shots with a hat-trick of birdies from the 12th to lead once more.

But the portly Irishman then birdied 15 and 17 while Fisher bogeyed the 16th, and although Lowry gave one back at the difficult 18th to finish on 14-under, he still held an advantage over the Englishman.

Fisher's approach to the final hole left him in three-putt territory and his third came up teasingly short, and with Lowry watching on from the practice area he pushed his par attempt to hand victory to the 25-year-old.

Former US Open champion Michael Campbell emerged from the wilderness to take third place a shot further back, back-to-back bogeys at 13 and 14 essentially putting paid to his chances of success.

Wiesberger finished bogey-bogey to card a 73 for fourth place, one ahead of England's Richard Finch who came in with a 70 but failed to land a serious blow.

England's Danny Willett and Raphael Jacquelin of France both shot rounds of 63 to move up 49 places and lead the remainder of the field on eight-under.
