Stevenage playmaker Robin Shroot is hoping to make a telling contribution over the course of the campaign having been reduced to a place on the bench in recent weeks.
The 24-year-old, who has been linked with January moves to Celtic and Watford, has played just 380 minutes for Boro this season, but has still managed to score six times.
However, the former Birmingham youngster told Sky Sports that he is willing to fulfil whatever role manager Gary Smith wants to give him.
"I'm not sure why I've only started four games this season to be honest, but I'm confident that I can make a difference whether I'm on the pitch for just one minute or the whole 90," Shroot said.
"I'm grateful for any opportunity that I get and will always strive to do my best once out there on the pitch."
The Hertfordshire-based outfit have made a fine start to the season and currently sit comfortable in second, just a point behind leaders Tranmere, but Shroot insists that no one is getting carried away with dreams of automatic promotion just yet.
"I still don't think you can read much into positioning at this stage of the season, but of course it is good to build momentum and make other teams aware that we can be a difficult proposition.
"It is now up to us to continue to stay in the automatic promotion places throughout the rest of the season."
