England completed a 3-0 series whitewash over Australia with a 58-51 victory at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
After beating the World No 1 side 58-53 in Bath and 51-49 at Wembley, England were expecting a backlash from the Australians.
And so it proved as the Diamonds raced into a six-point lead in the first quarter.
But England pegged them back and trailed by just a goal at the half, before surging into a 43-38 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Roared on by a passionate capacity crowd, they stretched that lead to seven points, sparking jubilant scenes at the final whistle.
Captain Pamela Cookey told Sky Sports: "I am broken right now but I am so, so happy. We dug deep today, we really dug deep. I am so proud of these girls. Today in front of all this crowd, all the support we have had - I can't believe it.
"The girls were amazing... I can't name one person, everyone really did their jobs today."
Asked about whether her side truly believed they could sweep the mighty Aussies, Cookey added: "We don't need to think about it any more. We know it is there and we know it is inside us. The belief is so strong in this squad and in the whole camp. It is just amazing to be part of it."
It is only the third time that Australia have lost a series 3-0 and the first time since 2004.
