Brett Ferres has been named as joint vice-captain of the Huddersfield Giants.
The former Castleford forward will share the role with Luke Robinson, providing support for new skipper Danny Brough ahead of Saturday's opening game at St Helens.
Ferres joined Huddersfield last season and is expected to be a key player in their Super League campaign.
Giants coach Paul Anderson said: "Brett's a player who commands the respect of everyone in the squad.
"Brett Ferres is like another new signing for us. We just threw him straight in last year.
"Now he's had a full season with us and knows what we're trying to achieve."
