France coach Philippe Saint-Andre has cut Yannick Nyanga from his squad to face Italy in their Six Nations opener on Sunday.
The Toulouse flanker was retained in the squad as cover for Louis Picamoles and Fulgence Ouedraogo but both men have shaken off injuries and will be available.
They are expected to start in the French back-row along with Thierry Dusautoir, with Damien Chouly providing cover on the bench.
"It is heartbreaking to have to tell Yannick that he has to leave," Saint-Andre said. "He is a great competitor."
Picamoles, who had a thigh problem, was the biggest concern but he said: "Everything is fine, I've resumed training normally, so no worries."
France will name their team on Friday.
Backs: Maxime Machenaud, Morgan Parra, Frederic Michalak, Francois Trinh-Duc, Mathieu Bastareaud, Benjamin Fall, Wesley Fofana, Florian Fritz, Yoann Huget, Maxime Mermoz.
