Blackburn's new recruits DJ Campbell and Lee Williamson could make their debuts in Saturday's Championship clash with Ipswich at Ewood Park.

Campbell has joined Rovers on a 93-day emergency loan from QPR while free agent Williamson penned a permanent contract until 2014 on Friday.

Should Campbell make his Rovers bow, the striker would face the team where he spent the latter part of 2012 on loan at. The 31-year-old struck 10 times in 17 appearances for the Tractor Boys.

Rovers will assess the fitness of centre-back Grant Hanley after he returned from international duty with Scotland this week ahead of the 1-0 win of Estonia due to a hip complaint.

Elsewhere, boss Michael Appleton has no other new injury problems.

Former Manchester United forward Josh King remains out alongside Adam Henley (both hamstring) while long-term victim Leon Best and midfielder Dickson Etuhu are sidelined due to knee injuries.

Bradley Orr returned to start at right-back in last weekend's 2-0 home win over Bristol Rovers following a loan spell with Ipswich and is set to retain his place against the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich goalkeeper Scott Loach will miss the game having sprained a thumb in training this week.

Loach's omission paves the way for Stephen Henderson's comeback between the sticks after he returned on loan from West Ham on transfer deadline day.

Captain Carlos Edwards will be routinely assessed after the midfielder won his 83rd international cap for Trinidad and Tobago in midweek as they fell to a 2-0 home defeat against Peru.

Manager Mick McCarthy will make sure his skipper is ready to play at Ewood Park following his lengthy travels.

McCarthy himself should return to the dugout having been forced to miss the impressive 4-0 victory over Middlesbrough last weekend due to a virus, with assistant Terry Connor taking charge.

Midfielder Lee Martin sat out against Boro with a hamstring injury and remains a doubt, with long-term absentee Paul Taylor (foot) on course to return to action in the summer.
