Brandt Snedeker said he proved a point to himself by claiming victory in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in California - and now he is targeting majors.
Snedeker finished runner-up to Tiger Woods in the Farmers Insurance Open and then to Phil Mickelson at the Phoenix Open in the last couple of weeks.
But he rose to the occasion in stunning fashion in the final round at Pebble Beach with a brilliant seven under par 65 to finish on 19 under for the tournament.
That gave him a victory by two strokes over compatriot Chris Kirk and he is now confident he compete for majors.
"Feels great to finish one," he said. "The last two weeks, playing great but running into two Hall of Famers really motivated me to go out (and prove) that I can play good and handle the lead.
"I love being in this position and today was a lot of fun. It's kind of crazy to think about what's happened the last four months.
"And to finish the West Coast (swing) off to win this way. It's such a special place. To win at Pebble Beach on a beautiful day like this ... you can't make this stuff up. It's just too perfect.
"Finishing off a tournament like this with a win, it gives me a ton of confidence going into the Masters, the US Open, all the great venues we have this year.
"And that's next on my list. I've won five times out here now. The most important thing now is to win majors."
