In-form fast bowler Kyle Abbott has been added to the South Africa squad for the one-day series against Pakistan.

The 25-year-old made his Test debut for the Proteas last week and had a huge impact on the match, taking 7-29 in the first innings and nine wickets in total, as South Africa won by an innings to take the series 3-0.

Abbott was called into the Test squad because of an injury to Morne Morkel and then got his chance when Jacques Kallis had to withdraw.

And, looking towards the one-day internationals, South Africa's selection convener Andrew Hudson said: "Morne Morkel's recovery from his hamstring injury is still a work in progress and we consider it prudent to provide extra depth to our fast bowling resources."

Abbott was already in the squad for the T20 internationals on Friday and Sunday, and may now play a part in the five-match one-day series, which gets underway on 10 March.

The other seamers in the squad for the one-dayers are Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Rory Kleinveldt and Ryan McLaren.
