Stacy Lewis wins LPGA Tour's HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore

American Stacy Lewis held her nerve to win the LPGA Tour's HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore on Sunday.
Lewis carded one-under-par 71 on a cloudy day at the par 72 Sentosa Golf Club for an aggregate score of 15-under 273 and a one-shot victory over Korean Choi Na-Yeon.
World number four Lewis paved the way for victory with a moment of brilliance at the seventh hole, her hybrid from the fairway landing just a few inches from the hole and setting up an eagle three.
"That was probably the best shot I ever hit," she said later.
Lewis wobbled down the stretch but, despite bogeys on 15 and 17, the 28-year-old held on for her sixth career win.
Choi, who was runner up at this event last year, was one behind playing the last but could only par and had to settle for second place again.
The only other player to challenge Lewis was fellow American Paula Creamer, who had a share of the lead for a brief spell on the final day. However, her inferior putting on the back nine proved her undoing, as she finished the tournament two shots behind the winner.
Lewis said she felt a big sense of relief after holding on for victory.
"That was so nerve-wracking," said the world number four. "This golf course is so hard and then you had the pressure. Paula and Na-Yeon were just so good today."
Scotland's Catriona Matthew closed with a 70 to finish in a tie for 10th.
