Scotland Sevens international Joseva Nayacavou has agreed to join the Doncaster Knights for the rest of the RFU Championship season.
Nayacavou, a lance corporal in the 2 Scots Regiment, has also represent the Army Sevens team, while he had been playing his 15-a-side rugby for the Heriot's club.
However the Fiji-born back-row will now bolster the Knights pack as the club looks to avoid relegation.
Knights boss Clive Griffiths said: "Joseva will provide cover in all positions in the back row, particularly at number eight where I see him.
"He is a very quick athlete, the grounds are starting to get more firm now with the change in weather, the surfaces are becoming more solid, so that's good for him.
"He is a very good rugby sevens player. He has played for the Scotland Sevens squad and is a very exciting player with ball in hand.
"With just six games left this season, we wanted to add to the squad and feel that he is a very good addition at the back of the scrum, whilst bringing another dimension to the team."
