Bangladesh will be without pace bowler Mashrafe Mortaza for the forthcoming three-match one-day international series against Sri Lanka.

The seamer suffered an ankle injury during the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 competition last month, and he has not been passed fit to be included in the 15-man squad.

Fellow paceman Nazmul Hossain has been called up for the series which begins on 23 March, and Bangladesh hope Mortaza will have recovered in time for the series against Zimbabwe next month.

"Mortaza is recovering from left heel injury and was given a break to gain full fitness in time a for our next series against Zimbabwe in April-May," announced Bangladesh team physio Bhivab Singh.
