Ryan Atkins: crossed twice for the visiting Wolves at Salford City Stadium
Richie Myler: Pulled the strings for Warrington and bagged a brace of tries
Warrington returned to winning ways with a ruthless 46-4 demolition of Salford City Reds on Friday evening.
The Wolves had been beaten in their previous two Super League outings but ran in eight tries at the Salford City Stadium to get their season back on track.
The visitors were on top from the start with some Michael Monaghan's kicking keeping the Reds pegged back in their own territory and Richie Myler, one of three Wolves players to touch down twice, causing problems with the ball in hand against his former club.
Ryan Atkins opened the scoring after just four minutes when he dummied in at the corner and a deft kick from Myler got Chris Riley in six minutes later.
A good spell from Salford came to nothing before a slick move led to Riley's second try of the night, with Atkins offloading for Brett Hodgson to feed the Wolves winger.
Myler waltzed through a static Reds defence just before the interval and Hodgson was on target for the third time in four attempts to make it 22-0 at the interval.
The Wolves kept up the pressure after the restart with Joel Monaghan collecting a kick and going under the posts.
Gareth Owen ensured the hosts would not be blanked with a 50-metre breakaway try on 55 but four minutes later the Wolves were in again with Hodgson finishing a Myler break.
Salford refused to lie down and Adam Neal was held up over the line and a vital interception from Simon Grix prevented an almost certain try.
And that was as close as the Reds would get to the Warrington line again as Atkins jinked his way in for a second try of the night on 73 and Myler bagged his brace with an angled run three minutes from time.
