Leeds have agreed a deal to sign England international goalkeeper Jack Butland on loan from Stoke until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old, who has already spent time on loan in the Championship with Barnsley, has made four appearances for the Potters this season, the last coming against Crystal Palace on 18 January.
Leeds manager Brian McDermott said: "We're delighted to agree a deal to secure the services of Jack until the end of the season.
"Obviously he has high ambitions. He has already been involved in the England squad and I know he is very much looking forward to coming in and being part of the group we have here."
Butland joined Stoke from Birmingham for £3.5m in January 2013 but currently finds himself behind Asmir Begovic and Thomas Sorenson in the pecking order at the Britannia Stadium.
In his final full season with Birmingham he won their player of the season award and was awarded his first full England cap in a 2-1 friendly win over Italy in 2012.
He also represented Great Britain during the 2012 Olympics in London.
The keeper is expected to complete his move to Elland Road ahead of Saturday's match at Middlesbrough, which is live on Sky Sports 2HD from 12pm.
He will compete with Paddy Kenny for a starting spot in the United line-up.
