Swansea and Wales full-back Neil Taylor says he needs to be playing regular first-team football.

The 25-year-old has fallen behind starlet Ben Davies in the pecking order for both club and country, after he broke his ankle in September 2012.

Swansea rejected a bid from Fulham in January, and a number of clubs have been linked with Taylor - who has just over two years left on his current deal.

"There was a bid for me from Fulham, it was rejected by the club and that is how football works and that's it," he told the Daily Mirror.

"It was the club's decision. If they had a price they would have sold me for then at least then I would have known I was not wanted or not needed. It would have made the decision for me.

"As you know my wife was giving birth on transfer deadline day, what was going on was at the back of my mind but I am settled here, I have a house here.

"But ultimately I want to play football and every player would tell you the same. I need games."
