Dean Ivory expects Tropics to have lost some of his rustiness in his next outing in the Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes on May 14.

A major improver who started off in minor handicaps and ended up winning a Group Three at Ascot last season, the six-year-old gelding has not reached top gear in 2014.

Tropics was seventh in the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster and did a little better in the Abernant at Newmarket, where he was fifth behind Hamza.

"He'll run next week in the Duke of York," said Ivory.

"We're looking forward to it, he usually needs a run or two."

Ivory said "hopefully" a trip to Royal Ascot for the Diamond Jubilee would then be on the agenda.
