For some it has been a week to saviour, but for others it was truly forgettable.
Skysports.com looks back at another spectacular seven days of sport, picking out the highs and lows for you to debate.
From a deadly Davydenko to a worried Wenger, let us know if you agree with our choices by filling out the feedback box at the bottom of the page...
Sixth seed Nikolay Davydenko took the ATP World Tour Finals by storm to land victory inside the O2 Arena on Sunday evening.
The Russian defeated all of this year's Grand Slam winners en route to glory, which was sealed with a straight-sets victory over Juan Martin Del Potro in the final.
Davydenko progressed from Group B with victories over Rafael Nadal and Robin Soderling, and sealed his date with Del Potro with a shock success over Roger Federer.
The 10/1 outsider for the tournament has moved up to number six in the world rankings as a result of his triumph.
Italian golfers Francesco and Edoardo Molinari led their country to World Cup glory for the very first time with an inspired display in China over the weekend.
Younger brother Francesco held his nerve to hole three consecutive birdies on the back nine as Italy edged out Ireland and Sweden by just one shot.
Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy looked to be shooting Ireland to Cup glory, however the former missed a crucial putt on the 18th to allow Italy to pinch victory.
Another chapter in one of the greatest racing stories of all time was written at Newbury on Saturday afternoon.
2008 Gold Cup winner Denman defied top-weight and a heart problem to score a remarkable second-time Hennessy Gold Cup triumph.
Trainer Paul Nicholls was overcome with emotion, later describing the feat as "an exceptional moment, one I will never forget."
Attention now turns to the 2010 Gold Cup at Cheltenham as Denman and Kauto Star look set to resume their infamous rivalry.
Shaun Murphy produced the unthinkable on Sunday night to end Ronnie O'Sullivan's Premier League dominance.
The 2005 World Champion thwarted 'The Rocket's' bid for a sixth consecutive title with a classy 7-3 victory at Hopton-on-Sea.
O'Sullivan had only lost six frames in his previous five finals, however, Harlow potter Murphy turned the form book completely on its head in Norfolk.
After qualifying for the play-offs via games difference, Murphy overcame John Higgins in Saturday's semi-final before rumbling Ronnie the following day.
After discovering on Saturday that star striker Robin van Persie will not kick a football again until April, Arsenal's title hopes were dealt another huge blow the following day.
Arsene Wenger's side were brushed aside 3-0 by a far superior Chelsea at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Didier Drogba shot down the Gunners once again, his brace extending the gap between the London clubs to 11 points.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland described his side's 33-12 defeat to Australia as the "most disappointing performance since I've been in charge."
The Wallabies cruised to victory in Cardiff on Saturday, emphatically erasing the memories of their shock 9-8 defeat to Scotland the previous week.
The defeat was also Gatland's heaviest since taking the helm in 2007.
Known globally as one of the greatest drivers of a golf ball that has ever lived, Tiger Woods was left feeling "embarrassed" after driving his car into a tree in the early hours of Friday morning.
The 14-time Major winner was sent to hospital with cuts to his face and body, however, thankfully none of the injuries sustained were serious.
There will be an inquest into the accident, and Woods looks unlikely to feature in the Chevron World Challenge - a tournament he has won four times - on Thursday.
The once untouchable Rafael Nadal looks a shadow of his former self after a week to forget in the English capital.
The world number two lost all three of his round robin fixtures at the World Tour Finals and heads into 2010 in great danger of slipping down the rankings.
The Spanish southpaw is without an ATP title since April and huge questions continue to be asked about his fitness.
Sky Sports Scout is where we scour the globe looking for the best talent, next up is Leandro Damiao.
With Harry Redknapp the strong favourite to land the England job, we weigh up his pros and cons.
Gary Neville told Sky Sports News HD he was not surprised by Fabio Capello's resignation.

good to see that all sports are not governed by the amount of cash invested in a person or team but won on merit and ability alone i wish all sports were evenly balanced and financed so that the results or the semi finalists and finalists were a foregone conclusion before events even begin.here's to the underdogs that upset the formbooks. And bring in salary capping,it works in the us and they seem to do ok.
