Manchester United have come out on top in the first all-English UEFA Champions League final and we want to hear your views.
Cristiano Ronaldo headed United in front after 26 minutes but Frank Lampard equalised for Chelsea just before half-time.
There was no further score until the penalty shootout when Cristiano Ronaldo and John Terry both missed, before Edwin van der Sar saved from Nicolas Anelka.
Did they deserve to win or can Chelsea count themselves extremely unlucky? Were you at all surprised that the game went to penalties?
Was it a classic European Cup final or were you disappointed with the match as a spectacle?
Who were the outstanding players on show? How did you rate the atmosphere in Moscow?
How much of a psychological blow will this be for Chelsea ahead of next season after they also missed out on the Premier League?

To all the Chelsea fans who are complaining about how they should have won 3-1: Lets assume the ball was moved 3 inches both times you hit the post so that you scored the two goals. Now it would only be fair to do the same for the 3 golden chances United had (the two in the first half and Giggs in the second). That would result in a 4-3 victory to the reds, so please stop talking about what could have been, it wasn't and you didn't deserve to win. Oh, and to the people saying United had the majority of the refereeing decisions - aside from the linesman having a vendetta against Joe Cole (funniest thing I've ever seen) the ref lost his cards for the entire second half - Chelsea should have been down to 9 men before extra time even started. Makelele is a very very lucky boy, and Ballack needs to learn some respect.

Right, lets have a massive reality check. I'm a Utd fan, so don't think I'm having a dig. All you Chelsea fans are chucking out all these 'ifs and buts' from the season, but the fact of the matter is what actually happened. If we went with your trail of thought then Derby should never have been relegated, WBA, Stoke, Swansea, Exeter etc etc should never have been promoted - thats football!!! You win, you lose, you draw, you miss, you score........... We won the premiership and the champions league. The premiership was won by the most talanted, solid and consistent team over the season (Chelsea fans please admit that). Chelsea were nearly there but down to there own shortcomings and Utd's superiority you didn't quite match up. So we 'scraped' draws with Boro and Blackburn. Well if 'scraping' is what we do to win the league then sorry, but that doesn't say much for your boys in blue. The champions league final was evenly contested but unfortunately settled on penalties. We creamed you in the first half and could have been 4-0 up but went in at half time level. You creamed us in the second half where you could have bagged 3. We scored a good goal. You scored a scrappy goal. We edged extra time and Giggsy should have scored. THATS WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!!!! And unfortunately for you thats what counts I'm afraid. So lets look forward to next season and another mighty battle between 2 great teams. But as it stands, Utd are Englands and Europe's finest. Stay cool football fans!!!!!

What is with all these people speaking of how Chelsea are United's equals and how Chelsea deserved to win the match. Chelsea dominated the second half yet they were unable to score. When United dominated the first half they actually scored. Let's not forget that for the entire 1st half United tore Chelsea's defense to pieces were it not for Cech. When Chelsea dominated, United's defense remained solid. Of the football that was played during extra time, United looked the better team and made the better chances eg. Giggs shot cleared off the line. That makes approx. 75 minutes of United domination. But at the end of the day, dominance is nothing. Chelsea lost the game simply because they were second best.

Will the clueless Chelsea fans please get a grip! For your bad memories the main chances pan out like this.. Chance No.1: Ronaldo goal, Chance No.2: Tevez, good save, Carrick should score, Chance No.3: Tevez, miss from 2 yards. Chance No.4: deflection off 2 united players (not killer pass, as I'm sure you lot saw it) puts Lampard in for equaliser, Chance No.5: Ballack tries to head the ball (and Rio Ferdinand) into goal but keeper saves, Chance No.6: Drogba hits post, Chance No.7: Lampard hits bar, Chance No.8: Giggs effort cleared off line by Terry - then penalties. That's four very good chances to score missed for whatever reason, by both teams. The chances were even, as is the balance, based on a first half where United should have been out of sight, and a second half where Chelsea came out fighting. There was nothing in it but luck and a good save at the end of the day, but listen carefully...you were not robbed...penalties is never a nice way to lose, but it's losing with dignity that you lot need to learn. Proper Chelsea fans out there - speak up - surely these muppets do you a mis-service. You can't all be bad losers..

How the hell can anyone say United didnt warrant the win!?!?! United were by far the better team in the first half and should have gone in 3-1 up, and chelsea should have had 2 in the second half as they were superior in that half! So either way it seems as if it would have gone to pens, and from then on it was a lottery anyways! Chelsea fans just can't seem to take defeat even though they have only started winning things in recent years! Drogba is a pre-madonna for his petty slap, and deserved to sent off! United will only get stronger!

I am too a life long chelsea fan and I personaly DO think chelsea deserved to go all the way and lift the trophy. They were extremely unlucky. They played so well considering Drogba did nothin the whole game. If he stayed calm and didnt get sent off, he would have taken the panalty and not JT. Jt you are a legend no one can fault you for the miss. You were the only one left who had the guts to even take it. I think Drogba is too big for the club and needs to leave. As for the other players for chelsea, fair play to you all, especially frnak lampard. What a game he had. I think that UTD have some very good players, but the rest are just taught the cheat in the training ground. Tevez for one. Next season chelsea will come back stronger and WIN the champions league, as we have the spirit and heart to go all the way. As for Avram, I think he should be given one more season to prove himself and to bug his players as he has Jose's squad at the moment.

Chelsea fans only seem to have seen the final from the point of kick off of the second half!!!! It was undoubtedly one of the closest encounters of the century, but it was an all english final and all anticipated a close match. Chelsea fought back valiantly in the second half, that you can not deny!!!! But Manchester United could have been European Champions after just 45 mins. I've seen numerous claims that Chelsea should have been 3 - 1 winners, however Tevez and Carrick could have killed all hopes had it not been for the heroics of Chelsea's No1!!!! At the end of the day we couldn't be beaten to the title and Chelsea couldn't get over that. Now we've got the European Cup to accompany the Premiership Trophey! Fitting that the Champions of England (and probably the best league in the world,) are now kings of Europe! Maybe next year Chelsea?!?!?!?!

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of bitterness and sour grapes that appears after these sort of matches, and it never ceases to amaze me how fans of Chelsea can post comments on here vilifying their players conduct. Lets face it most fans of Chelsea are people who became fans 5-6 years ago, granted there is a few die hards, but the majority of the fans are people who became fans when the Russian entered the door. I read here that people think that it was a great match, was it? It was hardly a major viewing spectacle, and I felt personally Chelsea ruined it with their antics. Makelele, Ballack, Drogba consistant whiners to the ref, and I would have had Ballack off for his persistant conduct towards the ref, it was no better than when Cole had a dig at Riley. Tactically Chelsea were dull, they tried to kill the game in the first half, and it was only when they got a lucky break with the goal that they decided to come out their own half, and actually attempt to play. If that goal hadnt arrived for man U, the match would have been a non consequence because their tactics were abysmal. As for Grant, if you think hes going to be there next season your living in Timbuktu, the guys good, but lacks any motivational skills, and he came across as a sore loser in post match interviews. Im glad Man U won it, they were unbeaten through out the tournament, and Chelsea IMO dont deserve it, and I hope they learn for next season that money does not give them the right to act the way they do on the pitch.

As a life long Chelsea fan, it was obviously a huge disappointment to lose in the way that we did. But whats done is done and we need to move on. Well done to Man U. Both sides were very level in this game and could have gone either way - I am sure that most Man U fans and players will be as relieved as delighted; same as we are disappointed. A couple of words to Terry and Drogba. JT, you are a legend at Chels and we all feel for you but you will recover and be even better next year! Drogba - you were on the way to becoming a legend but are bad for Chelsea now in terms of commitment and attitude. Knowing how close we were to penalties, why oh why even get involved. Shame you showed more energy in 2 stupid minutes than you did the rest of the game! Lets look forward and work to regain the premiership and break the duck in Champs League next year.

Yes it was a great match and yes both teams were good but in the end you need a winner and Van der Sar won it for United cause he remained focus and got that final one out. Now for the John Terry storyi do feel sorry but why make such a big fuss!!! Big players have miss penalties, remember Roberto Baggio for Italy in the World Cup final against Brazil? Penalty shoot out are cruel but as a professional player you are prepared for that. One kick HE did NOT MISS though and that most people MISS was the one on Fernando Torres in the first leg of the semis!!!!

For all this talk of Chelsea having dirty players and for having no respect, you're completely ignoring the lack of respect the Man United team showed as well. Both sides were as bad as the other, Drogba was not the only player that deserved sent off, Tevez for example used a fari few dirty tactics that were ignored. Chelsea played the better 2nd half and should of gone up 3-1, they deserved to win and it was horribly unfortunate that they didn't. Man United did play well, but not well enough to warrant the win. Hard luck to John Terry as well, he's a magnificent player and he deserved to lift that trophy.

Well, what can I say, a night full of thrills, a game full of spills, but UNITED were the ones to win! Full credit to Chelsea, they pushed United to the wire, especially after goign a goal down. If Avram Grant does get sacked by Chelsea, then surely they do no know who a good manager is. He has taken Chelsea to their first ever final, pushed United in the league when everybody wrote them off. Avram, youve got my backing. Well done boys, FERGIE, youve won it two times, this is truly the best United squad out there. A fact to be noted, that alot of Chelsea's players either playing or on the bench were all linked with United once but ended up at Chelsea. Roman has alot to spend I would say

Man U deserved to win. Should have won it in 90 mins. Chesea have learnt the hard way that you can't buy success. They have ended up with nothing after all that spent money. I feel sorry for Mr Grant. He will be the casualty. An honest, hardworking mananger. He is unlucky and doesn't deserve to be sacked which he surely will. J. Terry was very embarrasing with all that blubbing and he didn't give a post match interview and congratulate Utd. What a bad loser. All credit to Utd and the real "special one," - Sir Alex.

Well done Utd, you won it. The fact is both teams deserved to win it, and could have. Chelsea were and are Man Utd's equal. After the refereeing, lets never again here Mr Ferguson or any utd fan complain they never get the decisions from the ref. Utd Definatley had 95% of them during this game. Chelsea will get many more chances to win this trophy, and win it they will within the next 2 or 3 years. JT is the greatest captain and leader in English football and deserves to captain the national side for as long as he wants to.

Man Utd deserved to be European champion not because they were the premiership champions in the competition they also were the only unbeaten team all through the competition. Also lets not foget the teams they have beaten to reach the final compared to the teams chelsea had to beat.

What a game! Very proud of Chelsea, gave it there all. Its a shame that someone had to lose and Drogba had to make a complete fool of himself. As for JT, i can't understand how any England fan could ask for a more passionate guy to lead our team out. The guts it must take for a centre back to step up for a penalty of that magnitude. For me he was our best player out there last night, and will bounce back 10 times better just like he always does!

Yes, United rode their luck but that was only after totally dominating the first half but for a fluke goal in first half stoppage time fired Chelsea up for the 2nd half when they should have been dead n buried. It's unfortunate to lose a match like this on penalties but when Liverpool in Europe like this did it nobody felt sympathy for the other team. Dont forget that Chelsea only got to the final thanks to thar infamous OG. If Drogba had not seemingly got himself sent off deliberately so he wouldnt have to take a penalty in the shoot out then maybe John Terry wouldnt have had to take a penalty at all. For me, Drogba is the man to blame. I do not feel much sympathy for John Terry after he verbally abused Tevez and deliberately spat on him, this guy wants to be England Captain?

I think it is time for a reality check here! United destiny was saved by three inches of woodwork on three occasions last night, any one of those attempts goes in and it is a very different outcome. I could understand people getting carried away that this is Fergie's best team if they had won convincingly over ninety minutes, however they didn't and never looked like doing so after the first forty minutes, after which there looked like only one team who was going to win it. The dividing line between success and failure is very thin and united got the breaks last night, whereas chelsea didn't get any. Add to this united last ditch draws salvaged at Blackburn and Boro which could easily have been defeats and suddenly it is Fergie who ends the season without a trophy and not Avram Grant. SAF didn't look like any tactical genius last night so I don't think he is quite ready to walk on water just yet!
