American goalkeeper Brad Guzan is still hoping to seal a move to Europe in the near future.

The 23-year-old saw a move to Aston Villa fall through last month as he failed to win a work-permit on appeal.

The USA Chivas shot-stopper did not qualify for a work-permit as he has just five caps for America and the Home Office rejected Villa's appeal.

Now Guzan is to concentrate on Chivas for the start of the MLS season, before then switching his sights to sealing a move across the Atlantic.

Options

"For the next four or five months, my focus will be with Chivas," Guzan told the New York Times.

"If something comes up in the summer, I'll look at it, but at the same time, I'm not going to get sidetracked.

"I won't close the door to any opportunity - Germany, Spain, Italy, Holland, wherever."

Disappointment

Guzan admits seeing his move to England collapse was hard to accept.

"I remember sitting on the plane on the way back thinking how great it would have been," Guzan said

"But then I realised I was going back to a great club and great team-mates. Now, I'm just trying to put it behind me.

"It was definitely a disappointment because it would have been a great opportunity to go over there and continue my career.

"But it just wasn't meant to be. At first, it was hard to swallow, being so close. It hurt, but at the same time, I still play for a great club."
