Hiddink: Biding his time
Russia boss Guus Hiddink insists he is in no rush to sign an extended contract.
Hiddink's contract is due to expire after next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
The former Chelsea manager has confirmed he has been offered extended terms until 2012.
While he is flattered to have been given a new contract, he is against committing just yet.
Russia are currently locked in a two-legged play-off with Slovenia to see who makes it to South Africa, but Hiddink is not counting his chickens.
"My future remains unclear and from November 18 I could be a free man," explained Hiddink.
"It's flattering that the Russians have given me the chance to sign a new contract and stay with them until 2012.
"It's a clear signal that they want to carry on and organise everything in the future of the Russian game.
"I don't want to go through with the Russian offer at this stage."
