Hamilton: Home hero?
Sky Bet customers are backing Lewis Hamilton to revive his title challenge in his home British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend, prompting the bookie to trim his odds of winning from 3/1 to 11/4, of recording the fastest lap from 4/1 to 100/30 and of winning from pole position from 9/2 to 4/1.
Furthermore, customers who back Hamilton with Sky Bet to win, get a podium finish or finish in the points will have their stakes refunded as a free bet on the German Grand Prix if Hamilton fails to finish in the points.
In addition, if the lead changes hands during the final lap of the race, Sky Bet will pay out as winners both the race winner and the driver who led into the final lap.
Sky Bet spokesman, Dave Pilgrim, said "Despite recent setbacks, all the money so far has been for Lewis to claim his third victory of the season on home soil."
Hamilton has failed to score any points in his last two races and was hit with a ten-place grid penalty for the French Grand Prix before receiving a drive-through penalty later in the race. It's 25/1 with Sky Bet that he receives a similar penalty at Silverstone and 40/1 that he retires after colliding with Kimi Raikkonen as he did in Canada.
Sky Bet have installed Raikkonen as their firm favourite to win on Sunday, quoting just 6/5 that the Ferrari man puts his bad luck behind him to claim his first win since the Spanish Grand Prix back in April.
'The Iceman' looked a certain winner in France before a broken exhaust robbed him of victory and handed team-mate Felipe Massa maximum points. Brazilian Massa is Sky Bet's 5/2 second favourite.
Sky Bet reckon it's 50-50 whether Colin Montgomerie will play on Europe's Ryder Cup team in Kentucky this September.
The Scot is 5/6 to make Nick Faldo's team via automatic selection or a captain's pick while he's the same price to miss out.
Montgomerie leapt from outside the top 40 in the Ryder Cup table to 14th after his second place in the French Open at the weekend.
After scoring the winner for Spain last night, Fernando Torres is just 7/2 with Sky Bet to finish as top scorer in the Premier League next season.
The Liverpool striker is 5/6 to score over 21 league goals (5/6 to score under 22) while he's 2/5 to net most goals for the Reds.
Sky Bet are also betting on how many hat-tricks the Spaniard will score in all competitions next season and bet: None 9/4, Exactly 1 15/8, Exactly 2 5/2, 3+ 7/2.
