Kirilenko: overcame loss of first set
Maria Kirilenko secured victory at the WTA Korea Open with a battling three-set win over Samantha Stosur in the final.
The top-seeded Russian prevailed 2-6 6-1 6-4 to earn her third title of the season.
Stosur fired down eight aces while dominating the opening set, but then promptly lost 10 of the next 11 games to surrender the second set and fall 4-0 down in the decider.
The powerful Australian, who is yet to win a WTA Tour event, rediscovered her touch to take the next three games and then overcame a 15-30 deficit to stay alive at 5-4 down.
But Kirilenko held her nerve and sealed the result by serving out to love.
