Quotes of the week
Novak Djokovic believes he can leapfrog Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become world number one in 2009.
The 21-year-old Serb is currently third in the ATP rankings just 10 points behind Federer in second after a superb 2008 season.
Victory at the Australian Open was followed by semi-final berths at Roland Garros and the US Open.
And despite getting knocked out in the second round at Wimbledon Djokovic feels he can overtake the world's top two this season.
Djokovic said: "Being number one in the ATP rankings is always my goal and I think it's reachable.
"I have enough quality to get there, but I must be careful not to forget my priorities in trying to achieve that goal.
"I have to concentrate on all those little things that one needs to do to reach the goal.
"I'm a perfectionist and always want to do better. I have room for improvement, and that's good.
"I have high ambitions, and I want to continue with good results and games, especially in major tournaments."
While he continues to set his sights high, Djokovic also admits he expects to have added expectation on his shoulders at the turn of the year.
"The pressure is stronger now. I have to defend a Grand Slam title for the first time in Melbourne, and it will be a new experience for me," he added.
You can't dismiss Novak Djokovic's chances of winning all four of this year's Slams, says Barry Cowan.
