Andrea Petkovic took a step closer to completing a shock WTA Tour double with victory over Olga Govortseva in their Istanbul Cup quarter-final clash on Friday.

Petkovic, ranked 61 in the world, beat seventh seed Govortseva 6-3 6-3 to move into the last four of the tournament.

The 21-year-old German claimed her first tour title in Bad Gastein last week and, after eight straight wins, stands just another two away from repeating the feat

Petkovic will face Lucie Hradecka for a place in the final after the Czech eighth seed fought off a second set comeback by Marta Domachowska

Hradecka beat the unseeded Polish player 6-1 5-7 6-4 to secure her place in the last four.

Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky demolished Urszula Radwanska of Poland 6-0 6-1 to book a semi-final showdown with fifth seed Vera Dushevina, who beat third seed Anabel Medina Garrigues 6-1 6-2.
