Ljubicic: straight sets win
France's Michael Llodra beat Gilles Simon 6-7 6-3 7-6 in the semi-finals of the Lyon Grand Prix to dent his fellow countryman's hopes of securing a spot in the World Tour Finals.
World number 12 Simon let the match slip away in the second set after his opponent broke in the fourth game.
In the deciding set tiebreak, Simon could not handle Llodra's attacking game and went long with a volley to hand victory to his opponent.
Simon, who has now lost all four meeting against Llodra, will have a final chance of securing a place in London when he competes at the Paris
Masters next month.
Llodra will face Ivan Ljubicic in Sunday's final after the Croatian beat French wildcard Arnaud Clement 6-2 6-4 in the other semi-final.
