Sergiy Stakhovsky claimed his third ATP Tour title with a 6-3 6-0 defeat of Janko Tipsarevic in the final of the UNICEF Open.

The Ukrainian hammered down eight aces and dropped just seven points on his own serve to be crowned champion in s'Hertogenbosch

The world number 71 converted his third break point in the fourth game of the first set and then immediately held serve to take a commanding 4-1 lead.

The next four games went with serve as Stakhovsky went 1-0 ahead before dominating a one-sided second set that lasted just 20 minutes.

Tension

"I played really well today," Stakhovsky told www.atptennis.com.

"By the score, I believe this would be the easiest match of the week, but it definitely wasn't as there was a lot of tension.

"I can't really say I had easy matches (this week); more or less all of them were close in some way. I think I was a bit better and a little more consistent."

Tipsarevic, the seventh seed, managed to win just nine points in the second set.

"I'm very disappointed," he said afterwards. "But Sergiy played very well during the whole week. I somehow lost my spirit."
