Jacksonville Jaguars were indebted to Josh Scobee's last-minute field goal as they secured a 31-29 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card play-offs.
The Jaguars looked set to be crashing out after throwing a 18-point lead - however David Gerrard's rush set Scobee up for a 25-yard field goal.
Despite the narrow advantage, Jaguars running-back Fred Taylor admitted the side were just glad to be through to face either New England or Indianapolis.
"It is a great feeling to come and win here, whether by two points or 30 points, it doesn't make any difference," said Taylor.
"We are very hungry, we have the hearts of champions and we have the ability to fight to the very end and pull it out - it wasn't pretty."
The Steelers had opened the scoring when Najeh Davenport went over at the end of a 10-play drive.
However the Jaguars response was emphatic as Maurice Jones-Drew ran 96 yards from the kick-off to leave Taylor with just a yard to make the touchdown and level the scores.
Jacksonville opened up a 28-10 advantage as they ran in three touchdowns.
Rashean Mathis ran in a 63-yard interception and then Jones-Drew sprinted 43 yards from a Garrard pass.
Then, after a Jeff Reed field goal, the outstanding Jones-Drew crossed for his second - this time finishing off from 10 yards out.
However, the Jaguars then took their foot off the gas - allowing the Steelers to come storming back.
Touchdowns from Santiago Holmes, Heath Miller and Davenport saw Pittsburgh lead 29-28.
However, Jacksonville had the final word as Scobee slotted over the decisive field goal.
