The Denver Broncos have agreed a one-year contract with running back Michael Pittman, according to The Denver Post.
Terms of the deal, which is subject to Pittman passing a physical, were not disclosed.
The 32-year-old is an 11-season NFL veteran, having spent most of his career as a back-up or third-down receiving option.
His finest moment came in the 2002 Super Bowl when his 124 rushing yards helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 48-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Last season - his sixth in Tampa - Pittman rushed for just 286 yards on 68 carries and failed to score a touchdown for the first time since his rookie season.
Prior to joining the Buccaneers in 2002, Pittman played four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after being drafted in the third round of the 1998 draft.
