Vince Young returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since injuring his knee on the opening day of the season.
But Young - the third overall pick in the 2006 draft - will not immediately regain his position as the Tennessee Titans' starting quarterback, veteran Kerry Collins having led the team to a 4-0 record in his absence.
"I think guys were happy to see him out there," Collins told the NFL's official website.
"He's going to be a part of what we do from here on out.
"I see no reason why he can't be a positive force on the offence."
Collins, 35, will be under centre on Sunday when Tennessee travel to the Baltimore Ravens and has been told by coach Jeff Fisher the starting role is his for as long as the Titans keep winning.
