New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has reportedly undergone surgery on the season-ending knee injury he sustained last month.
The Boston Globe newspaper claim that the 31-year-old went under the knife on Monday to the repair the ligament damage to his left knee in the opening game of the campaign against Kansas City.
However, New England have refused to confirm the procedure, with head coach Bill Belichick not commenting ahead of his team's contest with San Diego this weekend.
"We're not going to comment on anybody's situation," he said. "We're not going to get into a daily update."
When asked if he had spoken to Brady, Belichick added: "I'm just worried about the San Diego Chargers right now. That's what we're focused on."
A spokesperson for the orthopaedist reportedly chosen by Brady to carry out the surgery also declined to comment claiming that the quarterback had not given permission to discuss his case.
Brady picked up his injury on September 7 when he was hit by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, although the full extent of the problem is still to be confirmed.
