Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn will miss the rest of the season due to a broken finger.

Quinn, 24, unknowingly played with a broken right index finger and damaged tendon during the Browns' 16-6 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday.

"Brady is going to need time or surgery for his finger to heal," said Cleveland coach Romeo Crennel.

"Brady will make a determination in the near future whether he'll take the time or have surgery to heal the finger.

"He wants to play. He was excited to play. But for his career, he has to get it healed."

Quinn, who was the 22nd overall pick in the 2007 draft, only took over as the Browns' starting quarterback from Derek Anderson at the start of November.

He can either keep his finger in a splint for six weeks or undergo surgery, a decision that has yet to be made.
