Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson sprained his left MCL during Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Anderson sustained the injury when his team-mate, right tackle Kevin Schaffer, fell onto his leg late in the fourth quarter.

The Browns did not provide an update on Anderson's condition, but he said he felt "burn and pain" and will undergo further examination on Monday.

"I'm not encouraged by the way he came off the field," said Cleveland coach Romeo Crennel.

Anderson's injury came just five days after the Browns learned that Brady Quinn would miss the rest of the season with a broken finger.

Quinn started under centre in Cleveland's previous three games after Anderson was benched. Ken Dorsey, who has not started a game since week 12 of the 2005 season when he was with the San Francisco 49ers, is next on the depth chart.
