The Denver Broncos have announced that they are willing to trade disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler.
Franchise owner Pat Bowlen said in a statement that they are willing to make the move after the 25-year-old failed to return their calls.
Cutler had demanded to be traded after it was leaked that new Denver head coach Josh McDaniels had attempted to bring in a new quarterback.
The former offensive coordinator at the New England Patriots had talked to his old employers about acquiring Matt Cassel, who ended up going to the Kansas City Chiefs.
"Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by head coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful," Bowlen said in a statement on the team's website.
"A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.
"We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded."
Cutler - who Denver selected in the first round of the 2006 draft - is likely to attract plenty of interest. He threw for 4,526 yards with 25 touchdowns and 18 interceptions last season.
However, the Broncos missed out on the play-offs after a late season collapse - leading to the firing of long-time coach Mike Shanahan.
New boss McDaniels, 32, currently has free agent signing Chris Simms and Darrell Hackney, who has yet to throw a pass in the NFL, on the depth chart at quarterback.
