Brown: Celebrates his match-winning touchdown
Ronnie Brown was Miami's hero as he scored a touchdown with six seconds left to snatch a 31-27 victory over the New York Jets.
A thrilling encounter saw the lead swap hands five times in the final quarter, with the Dolphins finally coming out on top.
Quarterback Chad Henne found Brown after a 13-play, 70-yard drive up field to see Miami move to 2-3 for the season.
And Henne admitted: "They played us hard but our guys had the determination inside and we just made a whole lot more plays than they did."
Brown had opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown, only for the Jets to level through Mark Sanchez's three-yard touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards.
Dan Carpenter put the Dolphins back in front with a 35-yard field goal late in the first quarter, only for two field goals from Jay Feely, from 40 and 43 yards, to give the Jets a 13-10 half-time lead.
And after a quiet third quarter the game exploded into action in the final period.
The Dolphins moved into a 17-13 lead just 43 seconds after the restart after Henne found Anthony Fasano from two yards.
The Jets responded immediately with a Thomas Jones touchdown that owed a lot to a great piece of athleticism from Edwards, who outjumped the Dolphins defence, twisted his body and landed just inside the line before he was tackled just short.
However Miami seized the initiative for the fourth time when Henne found Ted Ginn to complete a 53-yard touchdown play.
The Jets, though, weren't finished - and they must have thought they had won the game when Jones picked up his second touchdown with five minutes left.
But the Dolphins had the final say as Brown ran in from two-yards in the dying seconds.
