Clark: amused

Stuart Clark has described as 'laughable' the idea that Australia are scared of India.

The New South Wales fast bowler was responding to comments made by Virender Sehwag prior to India's five-wicket CB Series victory over their hosts in Melbourne on Sunday.

"I keep reading that certain members of their (India's) team say we are scared and things like that and I find that pretty much laughable," said Clark.

"They can think whatever they want and they've made some bold statements.

"India are playing good cricket, but the guys are keen to show everyone that we are still the best team in the world."

Not dominating

Sri Lanka are the third team taking part in the CB Series and skipper Mahela Jayawardene suggested Australia are a team in decline.

"They're not dominating world cricket at the moment," stated Jayawardene.

"They're playing some good cricket, but on and off. They're being pushed to the limit which is a good thing.

"I think the rest of the world is catching up with them, especially in one-day cricket."

The CB Series continues on Tuesday when India take on Sri Lanka in Canberra.

India currently top the points table with eight points from three matches, Australia are second on seven points from three matches, while Sri Lanka - who have only played two matches - are bringing up the rear with two points.

The three teams play each other four times before the top two in the points table go forward to a best-of-three final.
