Hussey: Excited at chance
David Hussey is on the brink of a first ODI start for Australia's Commonwealth Bank Series clash against India at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
With Michael Clarke struggling after being caught in the ribs in the victory over Sri Lanka on Friday, Hussey is in line to replace him.
Hussey, who has been called up ahead of his Victoria team-mate Brad Hodge, did play in the Twenty20 match against India.
However the chance to play in the ODI series alongside his brother Mike has still come as a surprise.
"I'm really excited but it hasn't really sunk in yet," said Hussey. "Probably when I get on the plane it will sink in.
"I wasn't expecting it. I was looking forward to batting by lunchtime tomorrow for the Vics and hopefully put on 400 and defending them on the last day and bowling them out.
"But I really want to dip my feet into international cricket and play some more, so this is a great opportunity.
"Just as long as I bat ahead of Mike I will be very, very happy. I bat four for Victoria so I'd like to bat there.
"But it doesn't matter where I bat as long as I get a game."
