Captain Mahela Jayawardene is confident Sri Lanka can enjoy a successful tour of the West Indies.

Sri Lanka have played only four previous Tests in the Caribbean, drawing two and losing two.

But Jayawardene believes the current squad is well equipped to change that statistic during the upcoming two-Test series.

"We have never won a series in the West Indies so far but we feel there is a good chance for us to do so," he said.

"We know that the West Indies are a strong outfit in their own back yard but we have a good blend of players who can do the job for us."

The first Test starts in Guyana on March 22.
