Clarke: Travel delayed
Michael Clarke will arrive in the Caribbean too late to be considered for the first Test against West Indies.
However, the Australia vice-captain will be available for the second Test in Antigua.
Clarke did not travel with the Australia squad at the weekend in order to spend time with his partner Lara Bingle, whose father, Graham, lost his battle with cancer last Saturday.
He will now join his team-mates in the Caribbean on Wednesday but will not be involved in the first Test, which starts in Kingston the following day.
"It has been a tough week for Lara and her family, I am glad I have been here," he said.
"We are grateful for the numerous cards of condolence over the past week and the kind words from friends, family and the public.
"I have decided to remain in Sydney for a couple more days to be with the family.
"I will miss the first Test and am sure the boys will serve Australia well. I am looking forward to catching up with the team and being ready to go for the second Test in Antigua."
Cricket Australia general manager Michael Brown said Clarke had CA's "absolute support".
Clarke's decision to tour is likely to result in Victoria batsman Brad Hodge being released from the squad and free to fulfil his commitments in the Indian Premier League.
