McCullum: no break
New Zealand vice-captain Brendon McCullum was cleared of any break following a visit to hospital for an X-ray after taking a nasty blow while batting against England at Lord's.
McCullum was struck just below the elbow on the left forearm by a Stuart Broad bouncer and, after consulting with the team physio on the field, retired hurt and went to have the injury assessed.
Scans revealed only severe bruising and he was able to resume his innings at the fall of the fifth wicket during the evening session.
The original incident occurred early in the afternoon session with New Zealand 120-4 in their second innings, an overall lead of just 78.
But in his absence, Jacob Oram and Daniel Flynn guided the tourists to safety with a 132-run stand.
Oram's dismissal for 101 prompted McCullum's return to the middle, although he added just 13 runs to his score before edging behind off James Anderson for 24 as the match meandered to a draw.
