Ganguly: out in the cold
India have omitted former captains Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly from their provisional 30-man squad for the Champions Trophy.
The decision is likely to mean the end of the experienced duo's respective one-day careers, although they remain important fixtures in the Test side.
It was not a major surprise as neither man has played a one-day international in 2008.
Ganguly, 36, is fourth in the all-time list of one-day international run scorers with 11,363 in 311 matches, while 35-year-old Dravid is sixth with 10,585 runs in 333 appearances.
Manoj Tiwary, Abhishek Nayar, Pankaj Singh and Ajinkya Rahane - all of whom turned in impressive performances in the Indian Premier League - have been included.
Virat Kholi and Ravindra Jadeja, two members of India's Under 19 squad which won the World Cup, have also made the cut.
India will cut the provisional list down to a 15-man squad in August ahead of the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan from September 11-28.
