Harbhajan: Back
Spinner Harbhajan Singh has been recalled to the India squad for the One-Day Internationals series against Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
Harbhajan was forced out of the limited overs set-up after receiving a five-match ban for slapping team-mate Shantakumaran Sreesanth during the IPL tournament.
That meant the controversial spinner missed the Bangladesh tri-series and the Asia Cup in Pakistan, however he returned to the Test side for the series against Sri Lanka.
However, the BCCI selectors have decided to recall Harbhajan, along with Sachin Tendulkar and pace bowler Zaheer Khan for the five limited overs games.
Mahendra Dhoni is also back to captain the side after omitting out of the Test matches, however Ishant Sharma has been rested.
"The selectors have rested Ishant Sharma from the one-dayers against Sri Lanka, but he will be back in the squad for the Champions Trophy," said BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah.
Paceman Munaf Patel and wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel have been included for the matches against Sri Lanka although they will miss out on the final Champions Trophy squad, with Sharma coming back.
Robin Uthappa, all-rounder Yusuf Pathan and leg-spinner Piyush Chawla are dropped from the squad completely.
India: Mahendra Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Rudra Pratap Singh, Pragyan Ojha. Ishant Sharma (to miss Sri Lanka series); Munaf Patel and Parthiv Patel (to be omitted ahead of Champions Trophy).
